Research Project

  • Ongoing
    Graph Property Prediction
    • Advised by Prof. Meng Jiang and Prof. Tengfei Luo
    • Polymer (macro-molecules) and molecules are graphs with atoms as nodes and bonds as edges. From plastic cups to aerospace structures, those properties nearly define what is our modern daily life. In this project, we aim to capture informative relationships between the polymer and molecule graphs and their properties. We are eventually targeting new material discovery. Currently, we have identified many challenging problems coming from the data (i.e., sparsity and imbalance) and the learning (i.e., generalization and interpretability). A work toward good generalization and interpretability from graph rationalization has been accepted by KDD 2022.

    Time Series Forecasting
    • Advised by Prof. Fuyuan Xiao
    • Energy and financial data are often organized in chronological order. Forecasting their trends is critically important to society and economics. In this project, we decompose the time series into many components in the frequency space and predict the future value for the components. To model the relationship among different time points, we analyze time series from the graph perspective. A work has been accepted by a top-tier journal.
